How Using “Tie Downs” Can Make You A Persuasive Communicator

How Using Tie Downs Can Make You A Persuasive CommunicatorHave you ever spoken to someone in the past who was really drawn to what you were saying? Like you were just talking and they couldn’t help but to keep nodding their head and saying words like “yeah”, “uh-huh”, “then what happened”. When you are getting eager reactions such as those from your listeners, doesn’t that give you some kind of signal that what you are saying is very interesting or compelling? Well what about the opposite? Your talking and your listener gives you little or nothing to work with. Especially if you are trying to sell this person on some kind of idea or product, and all they are doing is looking your straight in the eye with no expression. Has that ever happened to you?

“You Miss 100% of the Shots You Never Take.”

You Miss 100% of the Shots You Never TakeIf you watch hockey as much as I do, and I don’t, then you would probably have no clue that it was Wayne Gretzky who said this quote.  The interpretation of this quote is more than simple: if you don’t take the shot, then obviously you wont score.  It is physically impossible to make a shot that you never took.  To incorporate this outside of hockey and into your personal development, we intertwine this quote in the sense of wanting to

Have You Seen My Swag?

Do you have SwagThe obvious question is what the hell is swag?  Urban Dictionary defines swag or swagger as: appearance, style, or the way he or she presents themselves.  From pop icons to public figures, swag is what will allow one to have a magnetic effect on the people around them.  Regardless of how the word was coined, it denotes a meaningful concept.  Swag is simply having more than enough confidence in yourself, but

Have You Ever Slowed Down to Focus on an Accident?

What are you focusing?

Has there ever been a time when you were stuck in traffic on the freeway? Then as you started to creep forward you realized that the traffic is because too many people were gawking at an accident on the side. Also, I bet that even though you got angry that the traffic was because everyone was focusing on the accident, you subconsciously slowed down and decided to look too! If you have ever been on a freeway, chances are that you are guilty of Rubbernecking! Our minds are consciously aware of only a few things during any given time. You get what you focus on most of the time. That means that whatever you are presently focused on is what you will perceive to be

Are You a Negative News Junkie? You Gotta Read This!

Are you a negative news junkie? When getting ready for work most people follow a particular routine.  For some people the routine might be to roll out of bed, get ready for work then check out the news.  Then, when it is time for the long commute to work, the majority like to “turn that dial” to the local news station during their drive.   During work, these news junkies just cannot stop thinking about what else is going on in the world.  Eight hours of tedious pain staking work, they head on home while listening to the news.  Lastly, once at home they greet the family or pet, followed by getting out of those uncomfortable work clothes and you guessed it, check out the news again! The cycle repeats the next day.

Does that sound a lot like your life? Well if it does

Blogger Mindset 2.0: Inspire Yourself for Endless Ideas

Writer's BlockThe fastest way to learn something is by teaching it.  Since a lot of my readers are bloggers, I’ve received many requests on how to break a writers block.  In the beginning, you’re so excited about your new blog.  Your head is just filled with fresh new creative ideas bulging to leap onto your computer screen.  Then after a certain period of time, writers block! You scream to the top of your lungs, “What can I possibly write about now!!????”

For a few of you, money is rolling in and you can care less, that is until your residual income dips.  For most of you who don’t make money with blogs, it’s the step before you decide to call it a day and quit.  Thus becoming yet another statistic. The question is: what happened to your
